Berliner Philharmoniker in live broadcasts from the Digital Concert Hall during the 2011/2012 season with concerts at 53 cinemas throughout Germany and 21 cinemas in Great Britain.

After the tremendous success of the live broadcast of last season's opening concert, the Berliner Philharmoniker will present concert live from the Philharmonie in Berlin during the 2011/2012 season. The concert on 27 January 2012 will be screened in 53 cinemas throughout Germany and 21 cinemas in Great Britain and Ireland.

The Concert broadcast on Friday 27 January 2012 will be conducted by famous Sir Simon Rattle. The soloist in Antonín Dvořák's Biblical Songs and Gustav Mahler's Rückert-Lieder will be mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená (wife of Sir Simon Rattle). Maurice Ravel's Le tombeau de Couperin opens the concert, which concludes with Franz Schubert's 'Unfinished' Symphony in B minor.

The cinema screenings begin at 7:30PM and, in addition to the concert, will present comprehensive introductions to the works and an interval programme offering insights into the work of the Berliner Philharmoniker.
